This is the third of our critique evenings of this season, please ensure that you have placed your vote by the judging deadline of 31st July. A zoom link will be sent out via a Bulletin closer to the session date

Share photographs from last two field trips and discuss lessons learned. Also discuss the forum subjects for next season.

The last meeting of the season and a mixed one.

Presenting some award cards  from previous season, a presentation by Sue Leach entitled ISLAND PARADISE - Photographic Opportunities on the Isles of Scilly, and Q&A on the website by Leigh.

This will be the last formal meeting of the session and will be something slightly different.

This years competition is hosted by Selby and the judge will be chosen by us.  The result night is always an axciting event and not until the end will the winning club be revealled.   Robert is the Selby co-ordinater with Albany and will host the night.

In the 2021 Albany Compettion the club was beaten by Albany's shift towards 'in vogue' composite imagaes.  To try and get our members to be encouraged to experiment more with these techniques we have asked local expert Jane Lazenby to come along to give us some tips and guidance.

Modern day portraiture. A practical session.  See definitions of modern portraiture definition and try to create 3 images to meet your understanding. See examples from well-regarded photographers and offer comments on these and all our own efforts.

Prepare for next week’s meeting by preparing your three efforts. Bring them with you on a stick.

This Years Competition will be judged by Colin Williams.  All images entered  will be shown at our Annual exhibition at Selby Abbey

Mike is a Bridlington based Photographer and a YPU Judge.   Mikes presentation will include a wide variety of genres of photography.

Many members will remember Chris. He is a Professional Photographer based in York and who has visited the club previously.

This talk will be about 'Venice - In Pictures & Words'. The history of Venice told through Chris's landscape images.

Top twelve tips for serious photographers to know about editing; and, a discussion about colour balance

The competition will be judged by Paul Stanley FIPF, EFIAPg from Dublin who showed some of his own intersting work on architecture in the recent club zoom talk. 

A few months ago a few of our members were lucky to join a Wakefield CC meeting when Donna was giving her lecture. We all found the presentation to be among the best we had seen and Donna give a enormous amout of information about her techniques particularly lighting, arranging and camera settings. Most will remember David's spring lecture on Underwater Photography, possibly the best lecture of the season. This time David will be talking about his sports images including how he processes them to give Impact.  A short extract from his web site is below :

Paul Stanley AIPF EFIAP ESFIAP comes from Dublin and has been involved in photography at local, national and International level for more than 30 years.

Paul is a documentary photographer and in recent years has concentrated on Travel Photography. He also takes landscape photographs, especially those of the sea - which leads has led him to take a keen interest in long exposure photography.

Many will remember Paul Stanley, the Dublin Based Photographer, who spoke to the club in spring about Travel and Street Photography.

This years contest wil be a three way fight between Wakefield, Doncaster and Selby.  Howden are unable to take part this year.   

The competition is being hosted by Doncaster and the images will be Judged by Erica Oram.

Normally members have to travel to the host club to enjoy the tension of results night.  However this year through the use of Zoom you will be able to see the results unfold from the comfort of your own armchair.   Please join in and support Selby.

This is an opportunity for all members to get involved and give a short presentation on some photographic project or photographic technique you have been involved in.

Alan Bate has already volunteered to enlighten members on how he produces some of his signature abstract images.

This is the first competition of the season and is for open mono and colour images. The competition will close for entries on 14 October  and will be Judged by Ken Scott on 4th November.

This is the start of the new season.  The meeting will present minutes of the last AGM and members will be asked to vote for officers and committee meetings.

There will also be opportunity to ask the officers questions and give feedback on the programme and club management.

This competition will be running all summer with a closing date of 4th November

You will be able to enter up to 6 images, and you can change your submitted images at any time before the closing date of 25/11/21.

For this year only, due to the pandemic, the club rule stipulating that entries must be taken within the last 12 months is revoked. Therefore you might consider shots from your back catalogue for entry, providing these have not been entered into club competitions previously.
