Beginners Competition - Judged by an Internal Panel

The committee has decided to suspend the Panel of Three competition this season and instead hold a beginners' competition.

By giving this notice now it is hoped that beginners will have sufficient time to prepare and choose a few of their photographs to enter.

The Rules for this competition are:

  1. A beginner is defined as any member who has not been awarded a first, second, third or highly commended place in any competion in any photograpic club and has no distinction such as CPAGB or LRPS or greater. Each individual must decide for themselves if they deem themselves to be a beginner. A beginner can be any member of the club.
  2. Images can be taken by any form of camera. including smart phones.
  3. The competition is 'Open Colour and Monochorme'. Open means any category; for example: landscape, portrait, wildlife, action etc.
  4. Digital entry sizes can be found in the rules via the website. Prints can be any size but should be flush or rebate mounted on a 50cm by 40cm board.
  5. Each entrant is able to submit up to four images in any combination of colour and monochrome. Both prints and digitals are eligible or a mixture of both.
  6. The judging will be on the night by a panel of four experienced members and the President as chair with a casting vote. The panel members will give an appraisal of each entry during the judging process.
