Amy Bateman: 'My Life - Farming and Photography'

Amy Bateman is a professional photographer living on her family’s farm just outside Kendal, in Cumbria. It’s at home where she loves to capture a 'farming perspective' of the changing seasons, landscapes and the animals and people who live/work there.
Her presentation; ‘My Life - Farming and Photography' will cover the last four years and include her commercial photography, although Amy still enjoys undertaking portrait commissions of people and pets and running 'Farm Photography' Tours (when restrictions allow). We'll also hear about Amy's photographic journey, which 'skyrocketed' after attending an adult education evening class at the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal in 2016.
More recently, Amy won the 'Rural Life' Category in the British Life Photography Awards in 2019 and was also selected as the overall winner with her image ‘Intensive Care at Lambing Time’ (attached). Her prize, a mirrorless camera prompted a switch to Sony cameras and lenses and she's recently become a Sony Alpha Creator and offers talks and workshops sponsored by Sony.
