Welcome to the website of Selby Camera Club.      

 

What was your New Years Resolution? Did you decide to join a camera club and you've dropped in to see what we do and who we are. As a group of photographers we meet on a weekly basis to share a varied programme of presentations, competitions and members evenings where we often work in groups to develop our skills. I am very keen that we all develop and continue to learn and I try to encourage everyone to achieve their potential.

 

This year's season is well underway and we have experienced an interesting range of meetings. Presentations have taken us to Morocco, courtesey of Colin New, a Sheffield based photographer and member of The London Salon; to Iraq and HMS Ark Royal in the company of Chris North from Harrogate; Chris is an ex Royal Navy photographer and his talk appealed to a wide range of members. 

We have put together some of our work to send to our friends in Albany, Western Australia and look forward to seeing how they compare with the images from them. What a shame we only exchange work because it would be wonderful to exchange visits as we do with Alphoto in Holland. 

Still to come are presentations from our friends Marjorie and Tony Furnston - always an enjoyable evening - and talks from new visitors to Selby as we broaden our horizons. I hope you'll come and join us to share these events.  

I shall be showing my 'Presidents Choice' here on a regularly changing basis. Our first for 2012 is from newcomer Sarah Kellett who has been working with one of our project groups.  It has been great to see her, and other group members, work on various projects and give their presentations.  Come and see them yourself - you will be very welcome.
