Welcome to the website of Selby Camera Club.

As a group of photographers we meet on a weekly basis to share a varied programme of presentations, competitions and members evenings where we often work in groups to develop our skills. I am very keen that we all develop and continue to learn and I try to encourage everyone to achieve their potential.

Through the season and we have experienced an interesting range of meetings. Presentations have taken us to Morocco, courtesey of Colin New, a Sheffield based photographer and member of The London Salon; to Iraq and HMS Ark Royal in the company of Chris North from Harrogate; and just about all round the UK with our friends Marjorie and Tony Furmston. We've seen some excellent images both on CDs from various PAGB competitions and our own club work.

We put together some of our work to send to our friends in Albany, Western Australia which were judged against the images from them. What a shame we only exchange work because it would be wonderful to exchange visits as we do with Alphoto in Holland. We'll be hosting a visit from them later in the year.  We're going to be working on some special projects in the summer so the fun continues after the syllabus for this season finishes.

I hope the snow is over for this winter.  There is blossom in the hedgerow and spring flowers brightening up gardens and verges.  Although the news is full of drought and hose pipe bans my current 'Presidents Choice' is more typical of April Showers. I hope you enjoy the image which is by Elizabeth Ferdandez, called 'Walking in the Rain'.  If you want to see more come and join us at our meetings - you'll be very welcome.
