Welcome to Selby Camera Club. We are one of the top photographic clubs in this area. Our aim is to enjoy photography. We endeavour to provide a friendly environment where people can meet discuss, share and appreciate their own as well as other members photographs.
Our meetings are at Barlow Village Hall Park Lane Barlow Selby YO8 8EW on a Thursday evening from 7pm until 9.30pm. We start in September until May.
Our syllabus includes various events including talks, demonstrations by experienced photographers, competitions, inter-club meets, members evenings.
We have Portrait Evenings, where we provide the lights and models and you provide the expertise.
The club also runs Digital Evenings which will help you to understand and improve digital manipulation of your photographs.
Selby Camera Club has a fraternal link with Alphoto, a Dutch Camera Club, with which we have an annual exchange of work for discussion.
We also have an annual competition with Albany Camera Club, in Western Australia. Albany is situated about 300 miles south of Perth. Their club has about the same number of members as we have and we are most appreciative of the friendly rivalry.
Our thanks go to The National Lottery. Earlier this year we were awarded a grant to buy new equipment. This will enable us to continue with the development of our club.
